i see a little kid. and a big man with long legs. the little
kid is walking beside the big man...very eager. his little legs are moving very quickly, and very closely with the big man's
legs. as he walks, his face is often turned up towards the big man's face. the child looks at the path, too. his face darts
from the big man's face to the path, and back again. he's asking questions, and filing the responses away in his little
heart. he wants to be with the big man, and he wants to be like the big man. every once in a while, the big man picks up the
little kid, and, oh, the joy! then he puts him down to resume the journey. the little kid is following after the man. relentlessly
pursuing. beside, and behind, and occassionally a step ahead. although, when he gets a step ahead, he tends to get in the
way. so he realizes it's best to walk beside or behind, where he can really follow... and learn.
"Whoever humbles himself
as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Mt.18:4

Our Pure Freedom class ran for eight weeks, and included an Overnight Retreat!
It was great!! A huge thanks to the girls in our first class who made it fantastic! Ladies, don't ever forget
how incredibly awesome you are in Christ. Don't forget that the Lord is enthralled by your beauty, and that He rejoices
over you with shouts of joy. He is holy and awesome, and you are His child (if you truly believe in Him). If you
are the child of a King, what does that make you? - A princess!! And a princess has a regal responsibility to display
honor and glory throughout the kingdom! Ladies, you are a treasured possession, wholly and dearly loved by the
Creator of the universe! May blessing and honor be yours as you walk in obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ!! Amen!
If you have not yet trusted in Jesus to be your Savior, won't
you please offer a prayer to Him now? Tell Him that you're sorry for your sin, and that you're grateful for His sacrifice
on the cross on your behalf. (Your sin cost Him His life.) Ask Him to come into your life and make you His
child. He promises to make all things new! "Behold, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation." (2Cor. 5:17)

So went the conversation between my elder aunt and myself at the age of 8. Fond memories of Grandma's station wagon,
black licorice ice cream, pulling the legs off of Daddy Long Legs spiders, and parsley from Great Grandma's yard (that got
stuffed under the upholstery of the station wagon! - sorry, Gramma and Grampa). :)
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Thoroughly cream butter, brown sugar and eggs; combine dry ingredients and add alternately
to creamed mixture with milk. Stir in nuts and fruit. Bake in two oiled cake pans for 30 to 40 minutes.
This is
a real cake.
